Mamie Jotax Duo in concert.

This 4th edition of the festival will offer audiences concerts with eclectic aesthetics that are as close as possible to French musical creation.

– Église de la Salle-les-Alpes:

Mamie Jotax is a supercharged saxophone duo that has established itself on the French jazz scene over the last few years. Camille Maussion, on tenor or soprano, and Carmen Lefrançois, on baritone, alto, soprano, and flute, offer a music of variegated influences, mixing registers and the most unexpected sound combinations. In perfect connivance, they navigate through contemplative experimental music, juggle traditional world songs, and concoct wild, skilfully crafted arrangements.

Winners of the Jazz Migration scheme in 2022, these two virtuosos infuse their music with a texture and energy equal to their talent. Rustles, conversations and extensive techniques bring them closer to the murmurs of the world.

Their latest album, Mon cœur d'artichaut a mal aux abdos (My artichoke heart hurts), just released, is full of mischief and daring compositions.

Jazz, the language of improvisation, a taste for text, the fertile roughness of the contemporary and the beauty of sound combinations, that's what we'll be able to hear in the beautiful church of La Salle-les-Alpes.
