The Agence de Développement des Hautes-Alpes is authorized to classify furnished tourist accommodation. This simple, voluntary procedure enhances the quality of your accommodation, boosts its visibility and offers tax benefits. Here you’ll find all the practical information you need to submit an application and prepare for the classification visit.

Classifying your meublé de tourisme offers a number of advantages. First and foremost, it’s an excellent way of gaining visibility and promoting your accommodation in a more professional way. Classification also simplifies administrative formalities, notably the declaration of tourist tax. It also enables you to benefit from an advantageous tax regime, with a not inconsiderable tax reduction. What’s more, it is a guarantee of seriousness and quality that reassures customers and gives them confidence when booking. Last but not least, the classification opens up the possibility of accepting vacation vouchers, an additional asset for attracting a wider clientele.
The role of the Development Agency
The Agency assists owners with their procedures, carries out inspection visits and issues the official classification decision, a guarantee of quality and recognition for their accommodation.

- Declaration of the furnished accommodation at the town hall of the commune where it is located
- For professional and non-professional furnished-rental businesses, registration is required to obtain a SIRET number within 15 days of starting business. Declare me
- Preparing for the inspection visit
- Order the visit
To do this, download the file and return it, accompanied by:
– the declaration document to the town hall at emilie.michelet@hautes-alpes.net
– a deposit of €50 on the bank details included in the order form. - Setting up the rental property
The furnished property must be unoccupied on the day of the visit, with beds and pillows fitted with undersheets.
