St. Nicholas and Père Fouettard Parade

Arrival by horse-drawn carriage of Saint Nicholas and Père Fouettard, accompanied by the brass band, followed by a procession to the Allée des Boutiques.

Père Fouettard is a character who accompanies Saint Nicholas on his rounds on Saint Nicholas’s Day. He hands out pieces of coal or punishes disobedient children, whilst Saint Nicholas gives presents to well-behaved children.
