Refuge de Basse Rua
Looking for authenticity and a change of scenery without a 4-hour hike? Gaëlle and Jérôme's Basse Rua refuge is just what you're looking for! In the heart of the Val d'Escreins, accessible by car and at the start of many hikes, it's a mountain adventure accessible to all!
The Val d'Escreins reserve, created in 1964, offers a multitude of hiking itineraries, with something for everyone. You'll also have access to several trail routes and themed trails (botanical, remarkable trees…).
Gaëlle and Jérôme's refuge is also renowned for its traditional, home-cooked cuisine based on local produce. New: you can now enjoy a night away from it all in the tipis!
11 bunk beds in all, for a total of 22 beds, and a variety of sanitary facilities (landing WC, sanitary block, shared sanitary facilities).
From 12/06 to 23/08/2026 daily.
