Guided tour: Embrun, “Nice of the Alps”.
Covered passageways, narrow winding streets, sculpted doorways… the Middle Ages are in the air. This ancient city perched proudly on its rock was also a religious capital until the French Revolution.
At the crossroads of Provencal, Dauphiné and Italian cultures, its rich past and colourful facades have made it a popular holiday destination since the 19th century.
The not-to-be-missed guided tour of Embrun's old town, led by a guide from the heritage department of the Serre-Ponçon and Guillestrois-Queyras communities of communes.
