La Guindaine Astronomical Observatory

In an unspoilt natural setting at the gateway to the Ecrins National Park, the Astroguindaine association offers a wide range of astro activities and welcomes you to discover the stars in a crystal-clear high-mountain sky.

The transparency of the sky, untouched by light pollution, and the surrounding calm make this an ideal site for all astronomy enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for an evening to discover the sky, or an astronomy course, Astroguindaine will be there in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Located in the commune of Villar d'Arène (05480), La Guindaine is an architect-designed chalet perched at an altitude of 2000 metres, and can accommodate around 15 people.

Overlooking the valley and facing the Massif des Ecrins and its eternal ice, the chalet is built in the heart of a remarkable natural site, and enjoys a unique tranquility and panorama from the southern side of the mountain.
