The Tour de l’Obiou is a committed, GRP®-certified itinerary at the crossroads of Trièves, Dévoluy and Matheysine. In 4 days, it circumnavigates this emblematic summit and links territories with strong identities. Along the way, there’s a succession of atmospheres: undergrowth, mountain pastures, mineral combes and balcony paths with spectacular views. This tour focuses on one key objective: to share the mountains responsibly. A deep immersion in a raw, contrasting mountain, for seasoned hikers and contemplative walkers in search of an authentic experience.

Stage 1 – 11.7 km
Pellafol → Chalet de Bachilianne

From Pellafol, the path rises through meadows and then expands as you face the massif. TheObiou dominates the horizon as you pass through alpine meadows and forests.

Stage 2 – 15.5 km
Bachilianne Chalet → Tréminis

From the Chalet de Bachilianne, the trail becomes gentler and opens out onto the vast landscapes of Dévoluy, with the Tréminis valley in the background. You reach the Col de l’Aiguille, offering 360° views of the Vercors and Écrins, before following a spectacular balcony trail.

Stage 3 – 17.6 km
Tréminis → Lachaup

The entrance to the Dévoluy massif via the Col de Charnier, in a mineral setting, is marked by the presence of the Chourum Clot, an impressive karstic chasm. From Tréminis, the path gradually rises through alpine pastures and increasingly open landscapes, offering fine views over the massif, until it reaches Lachaup in a bright, clear atmosphere.

Stage 4 – 19.2 km
Lachaup → Pellafol

Finally, a wild transition on the edge of forest and mountain pasture leads to the Col de Faïsses for a final passage at altitude. The trail alternates between open meadows and dense undergrowth, in a calmer, more fluid atmosphere. The landscapes change gently, the light softens, and the climbs and descents punctuate the end of the route.
