A major employer
in the département
20% of private-sector jobs in the Hautes-Alpes are in theSSE sector. What’s more, the Hautes-Alpes ‘ main private employer belongs to theSSE sector. It is the Edith Seltzer Foundation, a large medical and social association based in BriançonIt manages several facilities specializing in care and support for the elderly and disabled. This type of player illustrates the ability of theSSE to generate skilled, non-dislocatable jobs, while meeting the essential needs of the local population.

A structured, cooperative
network
SSE players organize themselves into networks for greater efficiency. In agriculture, local cooperatives support producers in processing and marketing their products (cheeses, honeys, fruit), promoting short supply chains and local products. At the same time, work-integration companies are giving people who have missed out on the job market an active role, whether in the upkeep of natural areas, construction or recycling. These initiatives work in close collaboration with consular chambers and local authorities, creating a balanced ecosystem.

An asset for the future
of the Hautes-Alpes region
Thanks to its territorial roots, its capacity for social innovation and its role in the ecological transition, theSSE is a strategic asset for the Hautes-Alpes. It provides concrete answers to the challenges of attractiveness, solidarity and sustainable development, while consolidating a resilient economic fabric.
