Welcome to La Marmotte Joyeuse, a 19th-century house fully renovated in 2026 in the heart of the Alps, in the beautiful village of La Grave, facing La Meije. The house features 3 apartments; the “Sidérite” apartment, where you’ll be staying, is on the ground floor, making it ideal for a vacation with family or friends.

Experience life in a mountain village listed among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France,” with shops, restaurants, and a cable car all within walking distance, and the GR 50 and 54 hiking trails just a stone’s throw away.

The accommodation is a 63-square-meter, single-level apartment facing due south. It’s ideal for 4 people, with the option to accommodate up to 6 guests thanks to the 160 x 200 sofa bed in the living room. The fully equipped kitchen—featuring an oven, dishwasher, and fondue and raclette sets (the essentials!)—opens onto the dining/living area, which includes a large wooden table, a smart TV, a wood-burning stove, and a great rocking chair from which to admire the Meije.

For sleeping arrangements, you’ll have access to two bedrooms with new, hotel-quality bedding: one bedroom with a 140x200cm double bed and another with two 90x200cm twin beds. The living room sofa converts into a comfortable extra bed (160×200).

A bathroom with a large walk-in shower, washing machine, and towel warmer, along with a separate toilet, complete the space.

A shared ski room with a lockable locker dedicated to each unit (ski locker + boot and glove dryer) is available for your use.

In the summer, you can use this room to store your bikes (with outlets for e-bikes) and dry your hiking boots.

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartment, allowing you to work remotely in peace.

The beds are made upon your arrival, linens are provided (bath towels, kitchen towels), and end-of-stay cleaning is included, so you can truly enjoy your vacation.

If you weren’t able to go grocery shopping before arriving, don’t worry—basic essentials are provided for the start of your stay: coffee pods, tea/herbal tea, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, oil, shower gel/shampoo, and even a roll of toilet paper.
