European Heritage Days: Guided tour of the Rouchas Frach canal
As part of Heritage Days, this is your chance to discover the treasures of traditional irrigation canals such as the Rouchas Frach canal!
For more than 700 years, the Rouchas Frach Canal has irrigated the meadows of Fontgillarde and Le Coin.
A marked trail follows the canal’s route, featuring carved stones and a memorial site that evoke the environment and way of life of past generations.
This remarkable site was created through the initiative of the Fountgillencs, an association based in Molines-en-Queyras.
An educational and artistic tribute was created by the residents.
This experience is listed in the inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
European Heritage Days offer an opportunity to discover this memorial site during a guided tour.
The meeting point is past the village of Fontgillarde at the Lariane Bridge parking lot at 10 a.m., from where participants will carpool to the site and then take a short walk to the tour location.
It is recommended that you wear shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
From Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September 2026 between 10 am and 1 pm.
