Fishing

Between raging torrents,
large lakes and the silence of the peaks

The water flows, spreads out, and glistens. In the Hautes-Alpes, fishing is more than just a hobby: it’s a promise of fresh air, breathtaking landscapes, and raw, unadulterated thrills. Whether you come with a light rod, a wicker basket, or simply the desire to give it a try, every river and every lake offers a playground where nature sets the pace.

Every angler will find what they’re looking for in the lakes and rivers of the Hautes-Alpes.

Fishing
at Serre-Ponçon

Faced with this giant of turquoise water, fishing takes on a whole new dimension. Pike, perch, carp or lavaret: the diversity here is as astonishing as the grandeur of the landscape. From a boat at sunrise or from the wild banks, enjoy the privilege of a suspended moment. Serre-PonçonSerre-Ponçon is a life-size game, where every catch becomes a trophy, but where freedom remains the most important thing.

Fishing
in high-altitude lakes

Above 2,000 meters, when the trails disappear and the mountains take over, the high-altitude lakes offer themselves as discreet jewels. In these icy waters, trout have to be earned: they require walking, effort and shortness of breath. But what a reward! A cast, the reflection of the peaks in the water, and suddenly the sensation of being alone in the world, in a simple and powerful communion with the mountain.

River fishing

Torrents rush down from glaciers and mountain passes, leaping from rock to rock. There, grayling, brown trout, and rainbow trout hide in the swift currents. Fishing in the rivers of the Hautes-Alpes means learning to read the currents, listening closely to the sounds of the water, and finding a rare, almost meditative state of concentration. You cast your line, and in an instant, everything else disappears.
