Every summer, the Chaillol Festival invites the public to enjoy unique musical experiences in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes. Driven by a desire to foster connection and discovery, the event weaves together heritage, landscapes, and contemporary artistic creation. Through an eclectic program and events held in unusual venues, the festival offers a different way to listen to music and explore the region. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The origins<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Festival de Chaillol was created in 1997 by pianist Micha\u00ebl Dian. Born of a strong attachment to this mountain territory, the project was built around an original idea: to offer a musical itinerary in Alpine villages. From the outset, the festival has set itself apart by moving away from traditional concert halls to take over everyday venues such as churches, village squares and even forests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019, the Espace Culturel de Chaillol has benefited from the designation of Sc\u00e8ne conventionn\u00e9e d’int\u00e9r\u00eat national, Art en territoire.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The spirit of the festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The main aim of the festival is to make music accessible to all, especially in rural areas. The aim is to bring quality cultural offerings to places where they are usually less present, while creating a strong link between artists and local residents. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Programming<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Chaillol Festival offers a highly varied program. There are concerts of classical music, jazz, world music, contemporary creation and traditional music. Concerts are often held in atypical, intimate venues, bringing artists and audiences closer together.
