The Embrunman is one of the world’s most demanding<\/strong> long-distance triathlons. Every summer, hundreds of athletes come to Embrun, on the shores of Lake Serre-Pon\u00e7on<\/a>, to compete in this legendary event that has become a benchmark in the world of endurance. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

From challenge to legend<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Created in 1984 by a handful of enthusiasts, over the years the Embrunman has become a global benchmark in long-distance triathlon<\/strong>. Nestled in the heart of the Alps, the event is renowned for its fearsome gradients, demanding conditions and particularly high standards. The best triathletes come to challenge this monument, completed in 9h30 by the elite. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Swimming, the start is given<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At dawn, the athletes plunge into the waters of Lac de Serre-Pon\u00e7on to launch the Embrunman. A fast-paced open-water swim, the intensity builds immediately, heralding one of the most demanding days in the sport. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cycling, time for the passes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After the swim, it’s off to the bike for one of the Embrunman’s greatest feats of bravery. Over 185 km, the triathletes tackle a succession of fast sections and mythical climbs, with the Col de l’Izoard <\/strong>as the final judge. Between altitude differences, heat and fatigue, effort management becomes essential, and the first gaps are already opening up. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marathon, the ultimate battle <\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The final challenge of the Embrunman: the marathon. Around Embrun, the athletes follow one loop after another, with the dreaded C\u00f4te du Chamois as the key point.
