The Tour de France will return to the Hautes-Alpes for three days in 2026 (Champsaur Valgaudemar, Le D\u00e9voluy, Gapen\u00e7ais, and Brian\u00e7onnais)\u2014marking its seventh visit since 2015. On the schedule for this<sup>113th<\/sup> edition is a first stage in the Hautes-Alpes on <strong>July 23<\/strong> between Voiron and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/en\/destinations-hautes-alpes\/orcieres-merlette-1850\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"73881\">Orci\u00e8res-Merlette 1850<\/a> (185.5 km), a second stage on <strong>July 24 between <\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/en\/destinations-hautes-alpes\/gapencais\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"55046\">Gap and <\/a>Alpe d\u2019Huez (via the Col du Noyer), and on <strong>July 25<\/strong>, a \u201ccrazy\u201d finale between Bourg d\u2019Oisans and Alpe d\u2019Huez (171.5 km) via the <strong>Col du Galibier<\/strong> (Roof of the Tour 2026) <strong>and the Col du Lautaret<\/strong>, the day before the finish on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es. The Women\u2019s Tour de France will also be part of the festivities with one stage in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/en\/destinations-hautes-alpes\/buech\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"47415\">Sisteronais-Bu\u00ebch region<\/a>.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull step-by-step has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-columns alignwide has-2-columns are-vertically-aligned-center layout-5050\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-column\"><div class=\"wrapper\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Stage 18 &#8211; Thursday, July 23<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voiron \u2192 Orci\u00e8res-Merlette 1850<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/en\/iconic\/tour-de-france\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"83831\">Tour de France<\/a> returns to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/en\/destinations-hautes-alpes\/orcieres-merlette-1850\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"73881\">Orci\u00e8res-Merlette<\/a> for its sixth stage finish on July 23. Departing from Voiron, the riders will cover 185.5 km on the Route Napol\u00e9on via Chauffayer, La Fare-en-Champsaur, Chabottes, Saint-L\u00e9ger-les-M\u00e9l\u00e8zes and Pont-du-Foss\u00e9, before the final ascent to the resort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the Tour&#8217;s last stage finish in 2020, the resort has been completely modernized, with a redesigned snow front and renovated resort center, offering a renewed setting for hosting the event.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-column\"><div class=\"wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-image\"><div class=\"wrapper\"><div class=\"group-media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/orcieres-melette-patrick-domeyne-1240x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"single_image ws-image-282151\"><div class=\"credits\">P. On the program: a demanding 128.5 km to Alpe d&#8217;Huez.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right from the start, the riders will climb the <strong>Col Bayard<\/strong> (<sup>2nd<\/sup> category), before reaching the Col du Noyer (1,664 m) via its eastern slope\u2014the most demanding route\u2014with a long 22-km climb averaging nearly 8% before the descent into the D\u00e9voluy Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This terrain is ideal for climbers on the offensive, and leads to the mythical finale at Alpe d&#8217;Huez, with the 21-lacet ascent to the resort, the judge of this mountain stage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-column\"><div class=\"wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ws-library-ws-image\"><div class=\"wrapper\"><div class=\"group-media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hautes-alpes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/7b3a6114-1240x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"single_image ws-image-282144\"><div class=\"credits\">P. On the eve of the finish on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es, the Tour de France is about to take on a whole new dimension\u2014and what a dimension it is! On the agenda: the T\u00e9l\u00e9graphe and Croix de Fer passes, followed by a return to the Hautes-Alpes to <strong>the<\/strong> legendary <strong>Col du Galibier<\/strong> before a descent to the <strong>Col du Lautaret<\/strong>, Villar d\u2019Ar\u00e8ne, and La Grave.
