The D\u00e9voluy hides a vast karst network beneath its scree slopes. Mysterious chouroums<\/strong>, cavities dug into the rock with sometimes legendary names, open up into the bowels of the mountain. At the foot of the cliffs, water resurfaces with a vengeance: the Gillardes resurgences<\/strong>, among the most powerful in France, gush out in crystal-clear cascades. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

While the vast alpine pastures have been home to flocks of sheep for centuries, today the snow-covered slopes are home to the twin resorts of La Joue-du-Loup<\/strong> <\/a>and the SuperD\u00e9voluy<\/a><\/strong>where Cyprien Sarrazin<\/strong>, one of France’s greatest ski champions, grew up. Their contrasting architecture and four-season activities (Odyc\u00e9a wellness center, sports center, Via Souterrata, four-season tobogganing, etc.) stand side by side with a discreet heritage, such as M\u00e8re \u00c9glise<\/strong>, a humble Romanesque edifice that bears witness to the first villages. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
